Bangkok

Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand. Situated on the oriental riverbank of the Chao River, the city of Bangkok has had a spectacular economic and social growth over the last few years and with a population of more the 5 million people, makes Bangkok one of the most important cities in Southeast Asia.

Bangkok is the financial centre of Thailand and has a sailing port and a Stock Exchange and tourism represents one of its main sources of income.

In Bangkok City we can see many Buddhist Temples like the Wat Arun or the Wat Pho and we must not forget the Great Palace on the Khaosan Road which is very popular amongst travellers. With the traditional transport system, you can enjoy the motorized rickshaws with trailers and used as taxis.

You can take a trip very cheap on the River Chao and admire the marvellous views. If you want to go shopping, one of the best places to go is the Siam Paragon Shopping Centre. The two Bangkok Airports, the old Don Mueang Airport and the new Suvarnabhum Airport are the most frequented in Southeast Asia.
